Today is World Mental Health Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and its importance. This year’s theme, set by the World Federation of Mental Health, focuses on workplace mental health. This emphasises the significance of addressing mental health and well-being in the workplace for the benefit of individuals, organisations, and communities.

At WIA, the well-being of our employees is a fundamental aspect of our culture and is deeply ingrained in our core values. We have a dedicated Wellbeing Team that aims to support our employees by fostering a sense of community, creating a more inclusive culture of well-being, and organising regular opportunities for staff engagement within and outside of work.

Some of the initiatives we have in place include monthly coffee break catch-ups with each floor providing cakes and various activities, organising team charity events, and arranging regular lunchtime socials away from our desks. Additionally, we have two staff members trained as Mental Health First Aiders, Robbie Thorley and Stacey Langdale, who are available to offer assistance and resources to anyone struggling with mental health issues or going through a tough time.

So with this in mind, after work we are taking time out and going bowling, playing pool, throwing some darts, and having a good old catch-up. Enjoy your day.
